��������������� ������������� ������������������������������ �� REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, promotes sustainable private sector investment in developing countries as a way to reduce poverty and improve people’s lives. The Sub-Saharan Africa Credit Bureau Program under the Access to Finance Advisory Business Line (CAF) supports the creation and effective utilization of credit reporting services in Africa. Credit reporting is an essential financial infrastructure component that helps regulate financial markets, facilitate financial intermediation, broaden financial service offerings and increase access to finance across all sectors of the economy especially for small and medium enterprises. IFC’s Access to Finance Advisory Services is seeking Expressions of Interest from eligible legal consultancy firms to evaluate the current legal framework related to credit reporting in the Republic of Burundi; with IFC’s assistance, draft credit reporting regulation and make necessary recommendations about the compliance of the above law with the national legislation. Qualification Criteria i. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in providing legal consultancy advisory services in the financial services industry. ii. Experience with development of credit information reporting in Africa and robust knowledge of the legal framework of Republic of Burundi will be an added advantage; iii. A statement of the consultant’s past relevant experience, including a brief description of the assignment, the client’s name and address. Also a description of the consultant’s exact responsibilities on the project should be provided clarifying whether this project is an example of the firm’s experience or an individual’s experience iv.
